Guest Speaker: Marita Conlon McKenna 6th March 2013
As part of World Book Day our school was delighted to have the world famous author Marita Conlon McKenna come in to speak to us about her books.
Having studied Under the Hawthorn Tree before Christmas we were all so excited to have the opportunity to meet her. Lots of the class brought in their own copies of her books and were so lucky that she took the time to sign them
Marita firstly spoke about her childhood in Goatstown and Greystones and her inspiration for her writing. She talked about her children and grandchildren and the funny things they get up to. She also answered lots of our questions.
She was funny and interesting to listen to. We have lots of budding authors in the class who are now inspired by a wonderful role model.
